How do I cancel or change my Dining Plan?
You may change or cancel your Dining Plan during the first month of each quarter. To make changes, contact the Housing Assignments office at 350 Morrill Tower, call 292-8266, or go online at http://housing.osu.edu/current_dining_changes.asp
What vegetarian options do I have?
Campus Dining Services cares about you and your lifestyle. We have special treat for those of you who are vegetarian. While we serve vegetarian items in all locations, Sprouts Café is a separate dining service just for you. Its menu features vegan, vegetarian and gluten free menu items. Sprouts Café is located in Kennedy Commons and is available with your Dining Plan, Buck*ID or cash.
How does the Buck*ID work as part of my Dining Plan?
All Dining Plans come with a $100.00 deposit on your Buck*ID account. This allows you to enjoy a variety of local foods from outside the dining commons. There are also deposit stations around campus to put additional money on your Buck*ID account. Those locations are:
- Ohio Union
- Main Library
- Science & Engineering Library
- Law Building
- Mason Hall
- Sullivant Hall
This money can be used anywhere on or off campus that accepts the Buck*ID. You can purchase meals in the Dining Commons for guests by using your Buck*ID or you can purchase individual items in Buckeye Express. See the Buck*ID web site for additional details and online deposit options.
Where can I use my Dining Plan?
There are many dining facilities on The Ohio State University campus (see map of dining locations) where you are able to use your Dining Plan. Those facilities are:
- Cafeteria Dining: All you care to eat at North and Kennedy Dining Commons
- Buckeye Express: Fast food carry out at Baker and North Commons
- Sprouts Cafe: Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free service at Kennedy Commons
- Mirror Lake Cafe: Hot subs, smoothies, and more in the northwest Corner of Pomerene Hall
- The MarketPlace on Neil: Market style servcie featuring an East/West station, deli and Panini sandwich, and made to order foccacia, prepared in a stone hearth oven.
- Campus Grind: Espresso deli cafes located in many academic building across campus, (see map of dining locations).
- Oxley’s by the Numbers: Pizzas, subs and more located on the first floor, southeast corner, of the Tuttle Garage at 2035 Millikin Road Mall. The Dining Plan is accepted here Monday-Thursday from 4 PM to 8 PM and on Friday from 4 PM to 5 PM.
- The Wexner Cafe: This café is located on the lower level of the Wexner Center entering the southwest entrance at 1871 North High Street. This location accepts Dining Plan transactions only for breakfast, from 8 AM until 10:45 AM, Monday - Friday.
- Woody’s: BBQ sandwiches at the Ohio Union next to Wendy’s on the first floor.
- Viewpoint Bistro: a seated, restaurant style bistro at the Drake Union. This is teaching restaurant. Reservations are required for dinner.
Can a friend use my Dining Plan?
You can use up to 10% of your swipes to purchase swipes for guests. This means that if you have the Deluxe Plus plan, which provides you 250 swipes for the quarter, you have 25 guest meal swipes. Just tell the cashier that you are using a guest meal and we can take care of the rest.
Why isn't Buckeye Express open on the weekends?
This issue has been discussed in detail many times. If Buckeye Express is operating during the weekend, it would result in an increase in housing fees. Students, in recent surveys, have stated that they believe that having Buckeye Express available on weekends was not worth the fee increase based on how many times they would actually use the service.
If I change my Dining Plan, do I get a refund?
If your Dining Plan change has a lower cost than your original choice, you may be entitled to a refund for the difference. To receive a refund all university fees must be paid in full. If not, the difference owed from the Dining Plan change will be applied to any outstanding fees. Once your fees are paid, you will receive a refund check, mailed to your campus address. You can have your refund deposited in your Buck*ID account if you request it. For more information on fees and refunds, contact Fees and Deposits at 230 Lincoln Tower or call 292-3337.
