OSU Campus Dining Services

Sick Tray Policy for Students in Residence Halls

Who can get a sick tray?

Any residence hall student who is unable to come to the dining facility because of illness, whether under physician’s orders or voluntary self-isolation for Influenza-Like Illness.

What is in a sick tray?

See the box on the order form for full list of items. It is a four-day supply of foods recommended for those with influenza. Items for Day 1 and Day 2 are essentially a clear liquid diet, and are proper for the acute stage of many illnesses. Items for Day 3 and Day 4 begin to provide more protein and calories and are a step between the clear liquid diet and normal diet.

How do I get a sick tray?

Fill out a request form and send it with a friend to North, Kennedy or Morrill dining commons during regular operational hours to pick up the bag of items. Forms are available from RAs and hall desks or can be downloaded here.

If you do not have someone who can pick up your sick tray, phone 614-292-8380 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday to arrange for delivery to your residence hall front desk. You must fill out the form with your BuckID number and sign it.

What is the cost?

The sick tray is available only in the four-day put-up, and costs either 4 swipes on your meal plan or $28 in BuckID cash.
