How do I cancel or change my Dining Plan?
You may cancel or change your meal plan to a plan that suits you best during the first three weeks of each quarter. To make changes, contact the Housing Assignments office at 350 Morrill Tower, call (614) 292-8266, or go online at http://housing.osu.edu/current_dining_changes.asp
What vegetarian options do I have?
Campus Dining Services cares about you and your lifestyle. We have special treat for those of you who are vegetarian. While we serve vegetarian items in all locations, Sprouts Café is a separate dining service just for you. Its menu features vegan, vegetarian and gluten free menu items. Sprouts Café is located in Kennedy Commons and is available with your Dining Plan, BuckID or cash.
How does the BuckID work as part of my Dining Plan?
All standard Dining Plans come with a $100 deposit on your BuckID account. This money can be used anywhere on or off campus that accepts the BuckID. You can purchase meals in the dining locations for yourself or guests by using your BuckID. There are also deposit stations around campus to put additional money on your BuckID account. Those locations are:
- RPAC Food Court (does not accept $1 bills)
- Thompson Library (Main Library)
- Science & Engineering Library Lobby
- Law Building
- Biological Sciences/Pharmacy Library (Riffe Building)
- Veterinary Medicine Academic Building
- Prior Health Sciences Library

Where can I use my Dining Plan?
There are many dining facilities on The Ohio State University campus where you are able to use your meal plan. See the Facilities and Hours section for a full list of all Campus Dining Services’ dining locations. All locations listed accept meal plan.
Can a friend use my Dining Plan?
You can use up to 20% of your swipes to purchase meals for guests. Just tell the cashier that you are using a guest meal swipe and we can take care of the rest. As with grocery swipes, if none of your swipes are used as guest swipes, they will be used as regular meal swipes.
Example: If you have the Gray Plus Plan – 100 swipes, 20 of those may be used as guest swipes.

If I change my Dining Plan, do I get a refund?
If your Dining Plan change has a lower cost than your original choice, you may be entitled to a refund for the difference. To receive a refund all university fees must be paid in full. If not, the difference owed from the Dining Plan change will be applied to any outstanding fees. Once your fees are paid, you will receive a refund check, mailed to your campus address. You can have your refund deposited in your BuckID account if you request it. For more information on fees and refunds, contact Fees and Deposits at 230 Lincoln Tower or call 292-3337.

How do grocery swipes work?
20% of your total swipes may be used as grocery swipes. These may be used at any of our operations that offer groceries, including: The MarketPlace, Burritos Noches, Fresh Express North, Fresh Express Morrill and Morrill C-Store. Grocery swipes may be used to purchase items such as frozen pizza, gallons of milk, cans of soda, large boxes of cereal, etc. If none of your swipes are used as grocery swipes, they will be used as regular meal swipes.

What if I have a special dietary need?
If you are a vegetarian or abide by specific dietary restrictions, please see our nutritional calculators. Nutritional therapy services also are offered through Student Health Services with an in-house registered dietician. Kosher foods are not provided by the dining locations. You should determine if our food service meets your needs prior to signing a binding Meals Contract. If you are on a special diet which has been prescribed by a physician, you may get special help from Kennedy Commons and Sprouts Café. Kennedy Commons and Sprouts Café are specifically designed to help students with special dietary needs. Take a copy of your diet instructions (list of foods allowed) to the commons manager. He or she will make arrangements to modify your meals. Most diets, but not all, can be accommodated.
Does Campus Dining Services offer a sick tray service?
If you are sick and have a meal plan, Campus Dining Services will prepare a light meal for you. You simply call the nearest dining commons to request this service. Send a signed note with your university ID number with a friend who will pick up the tray. You must call no later than one hour before the intended pickup, which must be made during the scheduled meal hours.
I lost my BuckID, what do I do?
Report lost or stolen cards immediately to the BuckID office (614) 292-0400. Cards that are reported lost are deactivated for all debit and meal functions associated with the card. To continue using your meal plan, a replacement or temporary BuckID card is required.
